Check-in Updates¶
Dan¶
- Dries has booked accommodation for the event; confirmed as key speaker
- John O'Nolan (Ghost founder) expressed interest in speaking, potentially about editorial workflows in alternative systems
- Attempted to get Mountain Camp website frontend working but hit issues (likely a Node service not running as a separate Docker container)
- Mountain Claw AI assistant not working due to budget exhaustion (~\(500 spent, ~\)5 per interaction)
- Mountain Claw is on a dev instance that can break during updates; needs to move to production
- Mountain Claw serves as a useful public demo of Amazee AI capabilities since Mountain Camp organization is open
Sinduri¶
- Published the Sustainable Traveler Guide article with newsletter
- Still needs to create social media posts for it
- Plans to send testimonial invitations this weekend
Guzman¶
- Confirmed Mautic instance is installed and working
- Still needs data import, configuration, and SMTP server setup
- Extensive one-on-one promotion at Dev Days; many people interested but need cost justification
- Key insight: Opening call for papers early helps attendees justify conference costs to their companies
- Plans to write monthly articles showcasing Mountain Camp community talent
- "What we are doing for Mountain Camp can serve by itself as communication material for promoting the camp"
Miro¶
- Experimenting with a neutral domain for web information architecture using a crawler
- Spinning up multiple CMSs to compare information modeling approaches (Drupal CMS vs others, TypeScript integration)
- Available to help connect with other communities
Discussion Topics¶
Call for Papers Strategy¶
- Opening CFP early helps attendees justify costs to their companies ("I will be speaking there")
- Publishing session titles early generates momentum and attracts more submissions
- Discussed making proposals more interactive: allowing public reactions and related session submissions
- Fun idea discussed (not adopted): requiring speakers to generate 10 ticket sales via referral link to guarantee acceptance
Track Organization¶
- Discussed adopting DrupalCon Summit-style approach with theme leads (2-3 people per theme/track)
- Proposed themes: Sovereign AI, front-end technologies, headless, editorial summit
- Dan's earlier brainstorm on mountain-themed track names referenced (April)
Team Composition¶
- Need to confirm who is on the organizing team this year
- Has anyone heard from Mathieu? No recent contact
- Discussed a "call for participation" that lets people either propose a session or volunteer to lead a theme
Splash Awards¶
- Should begin planning if doing them again this year
Design Work¶
- Sarah willing to help with design once frontend is working, but has limited capacity
- Dan to try to meet with her (she lives in Aargau)
Technical Infrastructure¶
- Mautic forms can handle testimonials with picture upload (easier than email)
- Recording equipment returned from Drupal Camp Grunau; available for local meetup recordings to promote sessions
Next Meeting¶
- Every second week going forward
- Team members can drop out as needed
